What is Homeopathy?
‘It is more important to know what sort of person has a disease than to know what sort of disease a person has.’ Hippocrates
Homeopathy is a gentle but powerful system of holistic complementary medicine that uses the body's natural processes to stimulate healing. The cornerstone of homeopathy is a person’s own subjective experience of their illness.
'Like Cures Like'
This principle is central to homeopathy and easy to grasp. Samual Hahnemann, the founder of modern homeopathy, discovered that when a substance that causes certain symptoms in a healthy person, is given to someone naturally suffering from those symptoms, healing takes place. An example of this, is when some people who drink coffee recognise that they can feel 'wired' when they drink too much of it. When coffee is taken as the homeopathic remedy coffea it can help people to, who feel ‘wired’ to sleep naturally.
The Right Remedy
There are several thousand homeopathic remedies, which are all made from the natural world. There are a great many that could be used for sleeplessness. The challenge for the homeopath is to find the remedy that works for you.
